Kingsweston Stables

Approved by the British Horse Society

Can I book online?

Not really. Emails are fine for general queries, but for bookings, please call us on 0117 9828929, during office hours, Wednesday through Friday.

Do you have a weight limit?

Yes, we don't cater for riders of more than thirteen stone (eighty-three kilos).

Do you have an age limit?

We don't take children of less than four years and they need to be at least six before they progress to lessons. There is no upper age limit and we have had riders of over seventy.

If I bring a child for a walk-out (where they are led out for a ride on a quiet pony) will I have to go with them?

No, we find they are fine with the staff.

I don't have any proper riding clothes, can I still come?

Yes, of course. Just wear some comfortable, loose-fitting or stretchy trousers (trackie bottoms are probably best) and a pair of smooth-fronted boots or shoes with a defined heel (no trainers). You can borrow a hat at the stables.

What happens if it's raining?

We carry on as normal. Riding is only cancelled during exceptionally hard weather!

Is the time of my appointment the time I should arrive at the stables?

No. Try to arrive ten to fifteen minutes before that to get ready.

What if I need to cancel my appointment?

We need forty-eight hours notice of cancellation, or we have to charge in full.

Can I come and help at the weekends?

Only if you're thirteen or over, ride with us regularly and have the permission of the staff.

Can I get to the stables by bus?

Probably. If you give us a call on 0117 9828929, one of the staff will be able to advise you.
